I've always loved the non-technical challenges of photography. Find the subject! Choose a stunning angle for optimum light and drama! Frame the shot! Wait for the moment -- that smile, that gesture... Snap! 

While I’d prefer to look at photos by the professionals -- a Ken Franckling jazz portrait or an Ansel Adams study of a stand of silver birch -- exegencies of time, place, and budget make it imperative to pack my digital camera and give it my best shot.

Thus my portfolio, modest in both size and quality, contains oocasional portrait and performance shots of musicians in Downbeat, simple pond-side shots for nature columns, and a 10-year series of wine personalities in Beverage Business.
